Two Literacy Awards were presented to Rock Falls Rotary from District 6420 Governor Scott Shore during the Annual District Conference held at Starved Rock April 28-30  
  • Sustained Excellence award was presented for the 16 years of an ever-growing program of reading to students weekly at East Coloma-Nelson School. What began as reading to one first grade class has grown over time to include reading to students in Kindergarten through fourth grade classes.    
  • The Club Achievement Award required the club to complete four Literacy activities during the 2016 year, highlighting the support of LIFE program of United Way Literacy program, distribution of dictionaries to every third grade student in Rock Falls, a literacy photo booth during Hometown Holidays, and the reading program weekly at East Coloma-nelson school earned the Rock Falls Rotary this Club Achievement award.
